So why choose an online session guitarist?

Studios are expensive; travel equally so.  Using an online session guitarist allows you to save the cost of studios, yet still receive the same quality of recordings.  There are a lot of online session musicians around, yet invariably they sound like they were recorded in bedrooms.  This isn't always a bad thing, but many lack the punch and clarity of professional recordings.

Monitoring and tracking are the key.  I use professional recording equipment, amps, monitors and software to ensure each part is produced to the highest quality possible.  I run KRKs through a Focusrite interface and preamps, and have Beyerdynamic DT770 headphones on standby for mixing (or not waking the missus up at 3am).  Recording is handled through the Two Notes "Reload"; a specially designed amp interface, allowing me to use any number of microphones (SM57 to U87 to Beyer Ribbons) and an almost limitless array of cabs - all with real, valve heads -  to shape and design a soundscape specifically for you music.  With this, I can supply full rhythm and lead parts, or simple 'texture' / overdubs to any mix or song.  There's something about adding a real guitar to a song that brings it to life; makes it feel more alive than using only software-based instruments.

Performance Experience:

In my time, I've been in bands of many genres.  Noticeable acts include My Last Mistake, with whom I was signed to Universal Publishing, and shared the stage with Newton Faulkner, Amy MacDonald, Kate Walsh and Joshua Radin.

Since, I have performed in / with numerous functions bands, covering corporate events, holiday camps, parties and weddings.  Each presents its own challenge; something I revel in.

Recording Experience:

Past experience has had me record around the world.  Noticeably I spent a month working with award winning producer Julius Butty in Canada.  The rest of my recording has been spent in the UK, working at Metropolis, Rimshot, Hackney Road and countless smaller (but equally brilliant) studios, performing with bands from all genres; metal to blues, from funk to pop and back again.

These have been both pre-rehearsed and last minute sessions.  I'm well-versed in improvisation of lead and rhythm parts, or simply making a noise!

Random Info:

I'm obsessed with effects pedals!  Though my collection has decreased recently, I've been known to own almost 100..and try to use them all at once!If you want anything swamped in reverb and delay, I've got you covered!
